Poker, mind games, bullshit, table talk. The American dream. Onto day 3 of my latest Las Vegas trip.
Jumped into todays Venetian daily tournament, and I'm currently going ok at the first break thanks to some fancy footwork.
I normally get labelled as the comedian at the table, and deservedly so, but today I'm second fiddle as the 5 seat is occupied by Ray Romano, star of Everybody loves Raymond. A very funny and nice guy, I've played with him once before in the WSOP I think. He keeps a pretty low profile in the room, but still manages to get repeatedly besieged by people wanting pics and autographs, which he takes in his stride professionally with a smile, but I'd still think must be a tad annoying to deal with sometimes. No one means anything by it if course, for some it's a huge buzz to be sitting with a household name at the poker table, and for him it's simply part of the price of fame . Its not my thing to bother the guy, although I do enjoy the show very much.I know he likes his poker and also plays the game pretty well. My comedy table routine is going as normal, factoring him into a few gags, whilst stealing the odd pot when nobody's looking. Onwards we go.
Ray managed to get a one round penalty by accidentally exposing a card before action was complete, and when he came back got busted with a short stack. He re-entered and got reseated in the same spot!

Well, Ray outlasted me on his second bullet. I just ran AK into AA preflop with a below average stack and that was me gone on level 6 for just the one buy-in. Fun table, nice guys, and so it's onto the next one. I play day 1b of the Wynn Classic tomorrow, so I may have an early night or might play something later on, not too sure yet.
