A few days off and a last min decision throws me into the PH one day $400 event. A lot of players are in the monster stack over at the Rio (I play tomorrow), and after a few semi restful (and occasionally very stressful) days off I decided to play here today in the next event in their PH series.
Good start when I double very early with a set vs one pair. Almost a really great table. Everyone is playing ball and laughing and bullshitting with my routine with the exception of one guy who has decided to have a problem with literally everything I say or do. He thinks I'm trying to run the table by collecting blinds to help the dealer. He thinks I'm being offensive when I make jokes about the USA (whilst mocking myself). He thinks the jokes I'm telling aren't funny, and tries to throw in a line to kill them every time (even though the rest of the table is still laughing and having a good time), and he keeps somehow assuming that I think I'm the best player at the table even though I've quite pointedly said the total opposite on several occasions. It all gets kind of a bit tiresome after a while, and I basically just tell him that he really is getting the wrong end of the stick. Im a nice guy, I'm pretty much impossible to upset at the table, I have no malice and am never trying to actually offend anyone. Having said that I then inform him that if he really wishes to have a problem with me then I'm just going to have to bust him and make things very simple. Last hand before the break I take half his stack and say nothing. Revenge is a dish best served cold and all that.he now looks like a plate of steamed broccoli, and I'd guess dislikes me even more than previously.
Apologies for scarce updates. My iPad website app was having wifi issues and not letting me connect. We are on level EIGHT (yes eight) and we have 515 players with more coming in. 300/600/75, and I have 19k.
Down to 13k when AK loses to A10 on an ace high flop. He turned a ten. I got out cheap. Likewise shortly after when I have A10 vs 22 and the board ran out 10 2 5 10 9, I somehow managed to lose the minimum. Just hit the next break and I'm on 20k again, coming back at 400/800/100.
Level 10 and we've spiralled down to a disappointing 9K after getting dealt 10 10, 55, AQ, and 10 10 again and losing each one. Meh.
Just like that in two hands it's over. Q10 suited vs JJ on a 10 high flop when he played it slow, and I lost 3500, then A10 vs AQ when I flop a ten and he turns a queen. Just like that indeed. Next. There are more re-entry levels but screw that. Let's get some proper rest and bash up tomorrow's WSOP $1500monster stack instead. Will try to do a catch up update a bit later today.
