Off and running for flight 1c and another crack at the PH $300. Liking the starting table a lot, few older women and I've got everyone laughing after 2 mins, but early days so we shall see what happens.
First break and I'm still on starting stack, as I said, pretty soft good natured table, but I've nothing to move with just yet so hanging back as I'm more interested in getting through the day than in trying to win the thing in the first 3 hours right now.
Returned from break and joined by new players, still liking the lineup.
Just flopped top 2 and played it nicely enough to wait until the turn to get the guy to put all his money in with a flush draw and one over card. He misses that but luckily he manages to river a gutshot that he was unaware he was drawing to, cutting me down from 15k to 6500. Nice.
Raise to 1400 with QQ at 150/300/25 and get 3 callers! Flop A4K and two players want to get 3k each in the middle straight away. Sigh. Down we dwindle.
Down to fumes and not loving life. Have to jam 1700 with K9 and get 2 callers. Flop AK3, first player leads out making the other one fold, I'm assuming I'm dead...he flips 55 :o) I win and am back to 5600 much to the chagrin of the player who folded who was grumbling about the bet that pushed him out. I'm happy with it.
At least I was.
250/500/50 and after an orbit and a bit I'm back to 4100. All fold to me on the button and I jam with KQs to pick up the blinds and the antes. The small blind shoves for 15k and tables AQ, the worst hand I want to see. He makes a flush with the ace, and goodbye Kevin.
Frustrating morning with bad beats on again what was a great starting table. Not going to go on about it. I could play the 4pm flight but I'm not chasing with bullet after bullet in these things. I'll take a day or so out I think, and regroup and try something new. More in a while x
